What do you do when it is too hot for wool socks, but your feet are craving a layer of protection between you and those birk footbeds? Well, I knit lots and lots of shorty socks.
I’ve been teaching myself new-to-me heel methods and trying to get a better understanding of which heels work best when… if that makes sense. The shadow wrap heel may be my new go-to for super shorty socks. For those of you that wear socks with sneakers, they make for a great heel option for a no-shoe sock, too. I am getting a little bit of stretch at the instep, which I think means I have a high instep for the circumference of my foot, so gonna play with some modifications that hug my arch without stretching stitches.

I haven’t been posting much about my socks ‘cause I transitioned to handwritten notes and journaling that I keep in my knitting bag. I have been really loving it! I can make notes on stitch counts and changes to patterns so I don’t have to guess as much at second socks and it’ll work nicely with the rest of my field notes archive system.
Will pop on from time to time here to show off my new wears.
