I have begun my 25th pair of socks (of 2021) and I can confidently say that after a couple of years of sock knitting and practicing and lots of messing up, I can make socks! They don’t fall apart, are comfy, and attractive! Most of the socks that I have made to date have been admittedly for me, but I have branched out now that they are sturdier so both she and he have growing collections to keep their toes cozy and warm this winter.
I’ll be stepping away from patterns for a bit to just play with colors and work through my yarn stash via a basic sock that I have committed to memory. My most pressing bit of technique polishing will be striping and getting a cleaner, jogless color switch down. After that I’ll probably play with some heel variations.
