Meal prep is like 95% habit. The more you do it, the more it just becomes what you do. And I am here to reassure you that even if you fall out of practice for a bit that muscle snaps right back and auto-pilot kicks in. And yes, when you least expect it, that auto-pilot will have you serving three plates instead of two even though lunch is just for me and him.

The 20-yo has gone nowhere (yet) and I am lucky to have had her stay this close this long, but the inevitability of her flying the coop has started to sink in (lots of grad school talk ‘round these parts) and then I do something as mundane as serving three bowls of noodles and all the feels rush right to the top.
