2025 planner line-up

From left to right: Everything Stack, Kitchen Planner, Joy Stack

I didn’t spend a whole bunch of time in advance of the new year thinking through a setup so the first month in my new lineup has been a bit of a trial and error. Rolling into this year much more active in all buckets of life, so adding a third stack! This year I will have (1) my everything stack, (2) my meal planner, and (3) knitting and reading journal. A month in, I’ve been keeping up with all so far without it feeling forced so maybe this will work? Brief description of how I am using each below and links to the books at the end.

Round ups with interior pages in later posts to give you a better sense of how I use these day to day.

Everything Stack

My everyday carry has consisted of a few books for the past few years. The main book is a Hobonichi Techo Original (Avec) with daily pages that hold to-do lists, misc notes, due dates, schedule breakdowns and bits of ephemera I collect as I move through my days. I also carry a couple of Field Notes notebooks for dedicated, year-round workflows; these hold notes, brainstorms, and more big picture planning on projects.

Kitchen Planner

So, I cook a lot. And the usual space for 5-7 meals that pre formatted journals deem dedicated “meal planners” just don’t cut it if you have lots of kitchen projects and to-do lists and recipe testing going. The Hobonichi Weeks has been my favorite format for meal planning+. Ample room to track CSA, fermentation projects, weekly meal ideation, to-do lists and food tracking. I love this little workhorse!

Joy Stack

After years of struggling with my read-to-knit ratio, I am giving in. They will co-exist in a single Field Notes where I can jot down notes on all things books and knitting. Both of these things bring me equal amounts of fun and respite so might as well just call this the Joy Stack. The other blue notebook you can see a sliver of is a Field Notes Checklist Journal which is perfect for jotting down things to add to the read and make lists. They live in an Etsy-purchased Kraft-Tex notebook holder which I love for its compactness and built-in pen sleeve.
