I cooked things. I knit things. I read things. I rage cleaned my way through a month that had the unfortunate return of a tyrant. But we had snow and homemade goodies and lots of time together and more of that help me make it through this madness. A quick wrap up of the things that kept me busy and happily distracted in my birthday month.
Knit things.

Sock #1-2025 is a cozy red pair that were originally intended as a gift but I am on the fence about gifting a red pair of socks to the kid in his first year of living on his own. I can visualize the pink load of laundry with the lone stray red sock as the culprit. But they are pretty darned soft and his favorite yarn.
Also… I am marking my 50th year with a year-long knitting project? Yuppers. First month of my temperature blanket is wrapped and I am pleased. Making something simple based loosely on this pattern from Fifty Four Ten Studio.
Read things.
Lots of things apparently. It’s like I had years of not reading much to make up for. I abandoned Goodreads a few years ago and love Storygraph to track all things books. Started the year with one of my all-time favorite authors, Julia Glass, in a not so sleepy little town by the name of Vigil Harbor. Traversed through an alternate Bay Area where the US government has collapsed and then wrapped in the middle of a girls boxing tournament. Books are fun, yo, and I am so happy to be spending my down time this way.

Cook things.
And last but not least is my kitchen antics. I have a little project that I have been working on the past few months (years, maybe) and it is almost show ready! Planned on having it launch during my birthday month, but got distracted with the collapse of social media networks and such. It’s eventual release will be way more offline, but be sure to smash the subscribe button if you want word! Spots will be limited. More details on it all soon… really really close! 😉
