friday’s food links – april 15

We’ll be hunkering down at the house this weekend. The hope is to shake off some of this week’s hard by recharging our bodies with good food, good music and good hugs. We’ll be cooking together, whipping up some lemonade recipes (for my daughter’s lemonade stand in a couple of weeks) and just hangin’.

And now, to this week’s links.

I’ve had school and health on the brain:

Chicago school bans some lunches brought from home

Is Sugar Toxic?

Here’s What A Lifetime’s Worth of Corn Syrup Consumption Looks Like

This one has me a little nostalgic for San Francisco and Rainbow Grocery and the Farmer’s Markets where I first started picking up organic produce in the late 90’s [sigh]:

Renegade San Francisco Underground Market

This one made me smile:

Making empanadas from scratch and memory

And finally, a story that I hope to follow in the coming weeks and months:

Bolivia enshrines natural world’s rights with equal status for Mother Earth

Hope you guys have a great weekend!
