happy friday | aneelee.com

Did you notice that I gave things a refresh around here? I thought a new (and significantly less cluttered) blog format might be just the thing that I need to jump-start some digital house-cleaning. We talk a lot in our house about being present and staying focused on what is happening right now. Running our own business and keeping up with the 11yo’s busy life makes this challenging enough, so I am making a conscientious effort […]

cooking in season

I have been obsessed with the fig tree out back and am dreaming of its potential (in pounds, of course). We are picking a steady ¾ lb to 1 ½ lbs per day, but we may not be able to keep the birds at bay much longer. I have a few recipes at the ready just in case we grow tired of eating them as is: Figs with mustard seeds and curry leaves* Rustic Fig & Goat […]

week one wrapped | aneelee.wordpress.com

We will march happily into the weekend with both the first week of school and a HUGE milestone for the girl under her belt. I am feeling really grounded after dipping my toes in a solid dose of routine this week as well. Lunches were packed. Cakes were made . Meal plans were executed and I even managed a quick recipe post for that vegetable that everyone hates. All without going batty and sleepless! 😉 My mom […]

The awesome papercraft recipe for chile con carne is by Sarah Hillenberger. You can find more of her wonderful work here. Here go the rest: Would You Eat Edible RFID Tags to […]

We’ll pretend that it isn’t Sunday. K? We are deep in the throes of some “Spring” cleaning. The wool, toasty fabrics and sweaters are stowed till October and we are trying not to freak out about how hot this summer is going to be. Drought and 90º weather in April means we are headed for a scorcher. Here’s what caught my eye on the World Wide Web this week: Look at how far rice is on […]

We’ll be hunkering down at the house this weekend. The hope is to shake off some of this week’s hard by recharging our bodies with good food, good music and good hugs. We’ll be cooking together, whipping up some lemonade recipes (for my daughter’s lemonade stand in a couple of weeks) and just hangin’. And now, to this week’s links. I’ve had school and health on the brain: School Lunches in Affluent Districts Emerge as […]

I spend a lot of time online and in the process amass a lot of earmarks and content for my Instapaper feed. I’ll do my best to make these list of links a regular thing.
