I have spent the greater part of this week perusing cake recipes as I go through my annual ritual of “maybe there is a better cake out there that i can make for myself.” This grapefruit cake with white chocolate from Snacking Cakes is delicious. It is lightly citrusy and lightly sweet and breakfast worthy, but a birthday cake it is not! So, I will turn to my longtime fave – this orange olive oil cake. It is packed with orange and topped with a fudge-like dark chocolate frosting (ganache?). What’s not to love?!
Also sending out belated and early birthday wishes to all my fellow capricorns and aquarians that are living it up! There are only a handful of days in my calendar without a birthday this month. I hope you are all transitioning into the new year with all the festivity and attentions you deserve!
