tortillas again

Store-bought tortillas have been really dry and flavorless (at least the corn ones) for most of the last year. Something about COVID times has effected production schedules and stocking so the tortillas just feel old most of the time. My newfound tortillería has been the solution, but I just have not been able to make the short drive there this past couple of weeks.

So, tortillas from scratch again it is. The masa harina in the baking aisle is usually pretty unexciting, so I have usually ordered mine from various places. In a pinch though, the Maseca brand blue corn masa harina hydrates up really well with a better flavor than their standard white corn. A pinch of salt and twist of lime helps to bring out some of the corn flavor, too.
