My stash of tomato preserves has taken a hit over this winter break. I may be relying on it too heavily. Dialing use back a few notches to make sure it lasts us through May/June. What’s left: 9 pints crushed, 4 pints basic sauce, 6 pints roasted green + freezer stash.
Yes. Crapshoot is a good descriptor.Often, I find I share more than I expect to, and am then wondering where it all went. I’ve started trying to put up more for this reason.
I worry about stuff like this too! I have all this apple butter, and then after a few months I feel the need to ration it and make it last.
i make enough tomatoes to last me all year (in theory) but it’s always a bit of a crapshoot.
