I usually have a bit of downtime in December and this year I spent it whipping my kitchen back into shape. 2017 was a cray-cray year and there are only so many quick, last-minute meals one can pull together before your space starts to buckle under the pressure. The cookbooks are organized, the pantry wrangled, coffee/tea station cleared, and that one deep corner cabinet that had been driving me crazy has been reconfigured to hold the small appliances that I use most.
Today, on the first day of the year, I’ll be clearing our the fridge and taking stock of what I have in the freezer. There are sure to be a few things that need to get tossed, but I am mostly hoping to just rearrange some stuff and literally take an inventory so that I know what I have to work with and what I need to stock-pile. You see… I’ve decided to jump on the #30athomechallenge, so come January 2nd my kitchen will need to be a fine-tuned machine.
Be sure to follow along this month both here on the blog and on Instagram. I’ll be posting recipes, cookbook suggestions, some of my favorite shortcuts, meal plans, and maybe some random posts in between.
Also… a handy little printable to help you tally what you have in your freezer, fridge, or pantry.
Happy New Year and happy cooking!!
