meal plan | september 7, 2011

My plans for a quiche and soup dinner last week were squashed by the heat, but I think that we may be nearing more seasonally appropriate temperatures (for Central Texas ayways) so I shall forge ahead with more plans for hearty meals and a couple that even require the oven.

Dinner:
Split Pea Soup | Sourdough Bread | Crispy Salads with Buttermilk-Ranch Dressing
Greek Salad with Orzo and Black-eyed Peas
Spaghetti in Tomato & Almond Pesto | Spinach Side Salads
Enchiladas Verdes | Arroz con Platano Macho | Frijoles
Spinach Gratin | Tomato Soup
Veggie & Rice Faux Clay Pot (modifying this)

Breakfast:
Acai Smoothies & Bagels
Leftover Whole Wheat Pancakes
Spinach & Feta Omelets
Soyrizo, Black Bean & Potato Tacos
Yogurt & Granola

Snacks:
Banana-Oat Muffins
Watermelon Popsicles (last batch of season)

Also, I wanted to send out a gentle reminder to donate to the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. Central Texas is being hit hard by wildfires. Our community can help meet their increased need during times of crisis by donating cash and food. You can see a list of what they need most here.
