We will be cooking, playing, lounging, and blogging from the home front this weekend with the exception of a quick trip to the Sunset Valley Farmer’s Market and our new pre-Thanksgiving tradition – The Austin Empty Bowl Project. The beautiful bowls we selected last year were the perfect addition to our traditionally, humble meal and a constant reminder that we have chosen the right community to raise our family in.

Please make your way out to Marchesa Hall (near Highland Mall) this coming Sunday if you have a nice chunk of time to spare. The potters and volunteers involved in the effort have been hard at work for months (and months and months) to make a positive impact on the children in our communities. Proceeds from the day’s sales will go towards Kids Cafe, which provides hot dinners and homework help to neighborhood kids in need.

And just in case you need some soup ideas for the cooler days ahead:

Ancho Lentil Stew
Winter Squash Soup (vegan)
Vegetarian Posole
