It takes a lot of food (and energy) to feed three vegetarians with speedy metabolisms three meals a day for 10 days straight. I can almost hear the 9yo’s stomach growling from clear across the room. She is ALWAYS hungry.
Snacking is what keeps us afloat when we have long stretches of home time like this. Grapefruits and citrus are a favorite right now and I am trying to keep hummus and carrots at hand so that we can better resist our chip and salsa cravings.
There will, of course, be a decent amount of home-baked goods to keep those pangs at bay this week as well – cinnamon rolls on Thanksgiving morning and whole wheat banana muffins for the rest of the week.
What do you keep around for snacking on when you have everyone home for long stretches?
P.S. Apologies for not posting a meal plan this week. It’s been a very fluid few days and we are trying the low-key approach of working through leftovers and winging it…. ’cause we can. Best of luck with all your Thanksgiving prep work and I hope that you have easy and joyful celebrations with your fams.
