A second and third load of dishes in a day usually fills me with a sense of accomplishment – a clear indication of what the kitchen produced that day. Well, our dishwasher has been out of commission for ten days now and all I have on the mind is a running count of what we get dirty per meal cooked.
Rice and Beans = knife, cutting board, measuring cup, pressure cooker, medium saucepan & lid, wooden spoon, fork
Salsa = knife, cutting board, bowl, food processor, spatula, spoon
Stew = one pot, one small bowl, measuring cup, a knife, a cutting board, a vegetable peeler, wooden spoon
Spaghetti = One large pot, one sauce pan, cutting board, paring knife, food mill, two bowls, spatula, wood spoon
Breakfast Tacos = two skillets, spatula, tongs, two bowls, fork, cheese grater
I could go on and on and on. I’ve stayed away from baking and preserving since it broke, but my loquat stash is calling. Luckily, we have three sets of hands on deck to take care of it and the dishwasher repair dude is coming out (again) on Monday. Third time’s the charm, right?
