Something strange happened over the weekend – I craved broccoli. This is not a regular thing for me. You see, I crave things like grapefruit and pickles and… chocolate. Broccoli just doesn’t hang out in that part of my brain.
This quick broccoli preparation is what came out of my broccoli craving. It’s great if you are looking for something healthy to leave out on the counter for snacking on and would make a great start to a simple stir-fry with the addition of some brown rice and tofu. What doesn’t get eaten is getting popped in lunches over the course of the week.
Sesame Broccoli
1 tablespoon of sesame oil
1 lb broccoli florets
soy sauce to taste
- Warm sesame oil over medium-high heat.
- Add broccoli to hot oil and cook till edges start to brown and broccoli is bright green.
- Add soy sauce to taste.
- Cover to steam through if you like yours a bit softer.
